Working with Rev. Deborah to craft a memorial service for our dear friend Carol Parsons was in itself a sacred honor. The service was a beautiful heartwarming tribute delivered in a way that was sensitive and inclusive of all who were present. There were many magical moments that were a confirmation of being led by a higher power and purpose…. Thank you, Rev. Deborah, for doing your part in facilitating a sacred celebration of life! ~Jerome
Brad and I have known Deborah Mitchell for many years. When we were planning to get married, it was only natural that we would ask her to officiate, as she is both an inter-faith minister and our friend. She agreed to marry us, only after we worked with her on a Prepare Enrich program and after she thought we were both ready. We enjoyed working with her very much and loved having her be a part of our special day. We knew what we wanted our wedding to look and feel like and with Deborah’s help, it was the most amazing experience of our lives. To be married by someone who really knows and understands you, as individuals and as a couple, was the most comforting and joyous feeling. Our wedding ceremony was intimate, personal, and had some lighter, funnier moments too. Our children were included in the wedding, not just present for it, which was very important to us. Both Brad and I had been married before and we both agree that this wedding was more than just a wedding; it was a life event and one that we will not soon forget. ~ Leslie H.
A week before my wife and I got married, one of our dear friends passed away. We were devastated. Our friend didn’t want to have a funeral, but we wanted to do a Celebration of Life ceremony to honor him. And this is where Deborah Mitchell came in. My wife reached out to Deborah asking for help to plan the ceremony, as we were both overwhelmed with planning this; we were still very much in the midst of our grief. From that very first phone call, Deborah was kind and compassionate. Over several phone calls and Zoom sessions, the three of us planned the ceremony, and she agreed to officiate the event and share a spiritual message about our friend. When it came time for the Celebration of Life ceremony, there were a few last-minute adjustments that could have caused her to be stressed-out, but she handled those changes with grace. During her officiation of the ceremony, she didn’t rush, but took time to pause between each speaker and give all of us time to mourn the loss of our friend. I deeply appreciated her sense of timing and honoring the grief that all of us carried that day. Her spiritual message brought tears to my eyes and evoked the memory of our dear friend; she had taken the time to learn more about him, and I felt like her words spoke truth about his life. When the ceremony was finished and we had time for fellowship, I watched as Deborah went from person to person, listening to them, hugging them, and compassionately providing grief-care for our friends.
If you are looking for someone to guide your family through a loss, I wholeheartedly recommend Deborah Mitchell for this role. She will be with you every step of the way, seeking to provide comfort and care amidst deepest sorrow.
I am so glad that we had the opportunity to work with her, and she helped bring all of us closure after the loss of our dear friend. ~ Nick S.
Rev. Deborah has been a mentor to me since I attended seminary over a decade ago. Her kindness, ability to be fully present, and her willingness to share her wisdom have been incredibly helpful to me personally and professionally. We have had many laughs together during our family camping trips and shared tears during COVID. Rev. Deborah is a bright and powerful light in this world and has one of the biggest hearts I have been blessed to witness. ~Rev. Carolyn S.

She provides comfort to all during this sacred time, reminding us that we are not alone during life’s most challenging moments. Her open-heartedness and gentle encouragement allow people to express their feelings, fears, and concerns at their own pace. I have known Rev. Deborah for more than 13 years. I am amazed by her dedication and commitment to her path. Her ceremonies are unique and tailored… all of her work comes from the heart.
She has helped me through several dark periods in my life, it’s hard to express how grateful I am for her guidance through those times…
I also love her “Blessed Heart” T shirts! I have several of my own… and have given them to all my family and several friends who love them!
